Keep Your Pet Safe from Preventable Diseases
You can help give your pet a long, healthy life by protecting them with the proper vaccines. Many animal illnesses can shorten a pet’s lifespan and, in the case of rabies, pose a risk to people as well. Vaccinations help ensure you and your pet can enjoy life uninterrupted by preventable disease.
The American Association of Feline Practitioners and the American Animal Hospital Association’s Canine Task Force classify pet vaccines as “core” based on their importance. Below is a quick list of essential vaccines for your pet.
Canine Core Vaccines
- Rabies
- DHPP (Distemper, Hepatitis , Parvovirus and Parainfluenza)
- Leptospirosis
- Bordetella (non core)
- Influenza H3N2 (non core)
Feline Core Vaccines
- Rabies
- Calicivirus
- FVRCP (Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis (herpes virus type 1), Calici virus, Panleukopenia)
- FeLV (Feline Leukemia Vaccine (core for outdoor cats)
Keep in mind that your pet may also need non-core vaccines based on their environment and lifestyle. Our veterinarians can help determine the right vaccines for your pet, taking into account risks specific to Tallahassee and your animal’s daily activities.
Vaccine Schedules
Vaccinations take time to become fully effective. Our experienced veterinarians will help create a schedule that supports strong immunity while minimizing the risk of complications, ensuring your pet stays protected.

Dental Health
You might not spend much time thinking about your pet’s dental health. After all, aren’t factors like weight, exercise, and diet more important than their teeth? In reality, when dental care is neglected, pets can develop periodontal (gum) disease. This can lead to pain, tooth loss, and a lower quality of life.
Protect Your Pet’s Health
Dental problems such as loose or broken teeth, gum disease, and infections can have serious, wide-ranging effects. These may include premature tooth loss, chronic pain, and even damage to the kidneys and liver. Regular dental cleanings are an important part of your pet’s overall health—caring for their teeth helps support their entire body.
During a typical dental cleaning, we perform a complete oral exam to identify any problem areas. We then scale and polish the teeth, removing plaque and helping prevent future issues.

Protect Your Pet with Tick and Flea Prevention
If your pet has fleas or ticks, life can quickly become miserable for both of you. These pests can cause constant scratching and discomfort, and they may spread diseases that affect both pets and humans. Needless to say, they can significantly impact your pet’s quality of life.
To find effective flea and tick control for your dog in Tallahassee, FL, schedule an appointment with Animal Medical Clinic. Our services help keep your pet and family protected from these harmful pests.
Fight Fleas and Ticks
At Animal Medical Clinic, we offer a variety of the most current topical and oral medications to provide effective, long-lasting flea and tick control. Many of these treatments protect against pests for a month or more. We’ll recommend a control program tailored to your pet’s environment, age, and overall health.
We also encourage pet owners to manage their pets’ environments to help reduce exposure to fleas and ticks. Treating your yard, vacuuming your home regularly, and keeping outdoor areas clean and well-maintained can make a big difference—especially if you live in a wooded area.
With the right combination of environmental control and veterinary care, your pet can stay happy and flea- and tick-free.
Enjoy Our Convenient Services
We’re committed to providing convenient, high-quality care. Our clinic offers drop-off appointments to make flea and tick consultations simple and stress-free. If needed, we can coordinate a pick-up time that works with your schedule.
We also offer a range of preventative products. Whether your pet requires oral, topical, or injectable options, we’ll help you find the solution that best fits their lifestyle.
When you pick up your pet, we’ll take a few moments to review their care and discuss ongoing preventative options.
